A self-taught photographer since 2015. My documentary approach began in the West Bank, where I traveled in 2013 to work on Broken Hopes, a black-and-white web documentary created to mark the 20th anniversary of the peace agreement ratified in 1993 between Israel and Palestine. Since then, I have been committed to long-term projects and have explored portraiture as a documentary tool to inform about the world. Whether working on personal or documentary projects, I seek the historical or sociological significance of a subject. I focus on memory and resilience in contexts of crisis or social fracture. My projects address tension, revolt, and imbalance, with particular attention to the human element. In a dreamlike universe, I strive to convey reality and give voice to the subjects that move me, balancing a journalistic intent to inform with an artistic vision. I have been a member of the Hans Lucas studio since May 2017 and of The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) since February 2017.
